Wishing You a Popcorn Christmas! by John Wheeler Tucker

Popcorn is a simple treat, And one most people love to eat; Each kernel is a little bomb, Exploding when the heat is on!

This simple, powerful, little seed, Is something very special indeed; And like the message it brings us all, Christ’s birth was powerful, though very small.

Born of a virgin, in a feeding trough laid, What an impression that must have made; Shepherds worshiped Him, though poor and meek; Mary and Joseph, too, humble and weak.

His love works best, when it’s in our heart, A kind of “stable” where its life can start; Then, through the “heat” of trials we bear, His love develops into something rare!

It’s finally “birthed” into acts of concern, That we show to others as we live and learn; By moving like the shepherds and Magi did, Our worship and gifts, no longer hid.

Let the Christ of Christmas be “birthed” anew, In the heart of someone just like you; Let His love “explode” like a kernel of corn, Spreading joy to all on “Christmas morn.”
