The Heart of God – Part 11

Some of God’s children (adults or young people) wonder when God is going to show up. They wonder why He’s taking so long to send revival or do some great miracle in their personal walk with Him. But God has always been available, “in the sidelines” so to speak, ready to make things happen. In fact, God is waiting on them to say to Him what He has been saying to them, “Come!”

“Wash yourselves. Cleanse yourselves. Remove your evil deeds from my sight. Stop doing evil. 17 Learn to do what is good. Pursue justice. Correct the oppressor. Defend the rights of the fatherless. Plead the widow’s cause. 18 ‘Come, let us settle this,’ says the LORD. ‘Though your sins are scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are crimson red, they will be like wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land. 20 But if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken'” (Isa. 1:16-20 CSB).

Through the talents, giftings, abilities, and knowledge we already possess, God is telling us to “Come alive!” Invest what we know is right and He will “Come alive” in us, through us, for us. We dream too much and do too little. I hope someday to be a well-known and respected writer. But unless I study my craft, edit my work or have it professionally edited, prepare my book proposal and submit my manuscripts to the appropriate publisher, according to the publisher’s guidelines, I’m in a sinking ship of ‘hope so’s.’

Whatever we truly want from God, God expects us to invest in it wisely, financially, and to the best of our ability. When He says “Come,” He is inviting us into the ‘miracle’ we’re expecting from Him.
