Ten Things I Learned While Building the Ark (An Interview with Noah Ben Lamech) – 6

Reporter: “Did you get a good night’s rest, Noah?”

Noah: “Uh-huh! How about you?”

Reporter: “Not really. I agree when people get together for a common purpose, they can accomplish anything. But why do we need God?”

Noah: “Don’t you even believe you were created by God, that you and all these people here were given life by their Creator?”

Reporter: “There you go again telling us one of God’s great miracles. But what proof do you have we were created, and given God’s face and body, if He has one?”

Noah: “Faith! Those who know God personally, believe He created them and gave them this life. Where do you think the air we breathe came from? Who created these plants all around us? Who gave the birds the ability to fly? It certainly wasn’t one of the scientists at Ararat University!”

Reporter: “Okay, we’re getting off subject. Are there any other lessons you learned while building this great Ark?”

Noah: (Seventh) “As the Ark got bigger, we had to build ‘steady ramps’ and use long, thick ropes to hold every piece in its place. We built scaffolding up along the sides of the ship to keep placing large timber sections on top of lower timber sections. It required every ounce of strength we could muster, every type of securing ramp, rope, and angle wedge, and the boat itself rivetted, timber upon timber, to steady it, and prove its structural strength!”

Reporter: “But what was your point?”

Noah: “It’s not just the people and their part in the project, but every little piece and its part in the project! It’s kind of an offshoot of the previous lesson. A common goal or purpose adds the benefit of a sound outcome or product. The Ark was being built to carry an extreme amount of weight and its cargo were living, breathing animals and people! We accomplished a task far greater than any one of us could have imagined!”

Reporter: “Were there times during the ride, that the animals were unruly, perhaps rocking the boat into a dangerous, potential capsize?”

Noah: (Eight) “Not really. God, our Foreman, laid out a blueprint of the boat’s interior, placing various animals, like Elephants, Rhinoceroses, Hippopotamuses, and some of the larger dinosaurs, on opposite sides of the Ark, providing balance and equilibrium throughout the entire vessel. Our God is a Source of wisdom and creative inginuity!”

Reporter: “That – is – truly – amazing! Who else would have thought about that, when we know there never existed a boat this large prior to this time in history?”
