Words to the Songs I’ve Written – 9

Where are the Fathers? By John Wheeler Tucker

Where are you? Where are you? Where are the fathers who ran away, from sons and daughters that got in their way? Where are those men, who vowed to remain, whatever the challenge, whatever the pain? Where are the fathers who promised to stay; whose marriage vows have faded away? Where are you? Where are you? Where are the fathers with courage and guts, to lead their families through life’s tough ruts? Where are the fathers, to instruct and guide, as responsible men, with their wives by their side? Where are you, men? Where is your faith? Do you have any morals: have they all gone to waste? Where are you? Where are you? To those men who repent, and return to their wives; to their sons and their daughters; to restore all their lives; There is hope and forgiveness! There are arms open wide; Come out of the shadows and the places you hide! Pray from the Scriptures. Speak forth every verse, until you break every generational curse! In the end we will see, men and fathers return; to a land that is healed, for which all of us yearn! So, let us pray: “I rebuke the spirit of anger! I rebuke the spirit of fear! I rebuke the spirit of pornography! In the name of Jesus, Who is here! “I rebuke the spirit of apostasy! I rebuke the spirit of hate! I rebuke the spirit of adultery! In Christ’s name and for His sake! “In the name of Jesus Christ: Be gone! Be gone! Be gone!” “I invite God’s Holy Spirit! I invite God’s angels to come! I invite God’s people to intercede! And I invite God’s precious Son! “In the name of Jesus Christ: Please come! Please come! Please come!”
