In Other Words, – 1

Psalm 23 (from the NLT) The LORD (Yahweh, El Shaddai, Elohim, God of creation, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) is (not was, not will be) my shepherd: (caregiver, helper, the One who comes alongside to assure me, overseer, protector, shield, guide, restorer, uplifter, advocate) I have all that I need (my supply is unlimited in Christ, ever available, yet only provided in God’s unique timing). 2 He lets me rest (calm down, lay still, be undistracted, experience His peacefulness, be enveloped by His presence, imitate Him in the quietness of tranquility) in green meadows; (surrounded by lush vegetation, engulfed by creation’s own stillness, touched by earth’s life forms in abundance); he leads (chooses with utmost care, selects with precision, invites our person into His well-thought-through direction) me beside (near to, parallel to, close to, within earshot of) peaceful (calming, gently moving, inviting, restorative) streams.”
