In Other Words – Ps. 103:

10a “He does not punish us for all our sins;”

(God does not, will not, can not, take our sins into account, because Christ paid the penalty on the cross, for all our individual and corporate mistakes/sins/failures/premeditated evil acts!

God will not punish a believer for sins they’ve committed — those sins are under the blood of Christ.)

But we must remember, though our sins are forgiven, there are consequenses for our sins/evil acts, now in the present!

People still go to prison, still die due to wrong turns, and going through red lights on the road. Our souls are saved, but we still deal with the world, the flesh, and the devil!

10b “he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.”

(God had the Bible written so we could know how to behave in an ungodly world. Even when life seems so unfair, so harsh, so unforgiving, we know God is being patient and compassionate with us as believers.

It’s not His fault if we suffer in this life. His promises are ours to claim and proclaim! If God were to punish us as our sins deserve, do you think we’d still be alive? BUT GOD’S Character shows mercy! God is love!

Love restrains itself from being too harsh with us! People are harsh, unforgiving, evil, and conniving. Not God!
