In Other Words – 8

(NLT) Ps. 103: 7 “He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel.” (To get God’s attention,we ask! Moses asked to see God’s face, and was privileged to see God’s back. The Old Testament Israelites asked God for provision and protection. As long as they did not complain, God gave them more than they asked for).

What am I asking of Him? What are you asking of Him? We must make sure our motives are pure. Don’t ask for anything that would give you the glory and honor only He deserves. The Apostle James scolded the early Church, both Jews and Gentiles, for their impure motives (James 3:13-18).

What does our complaining do? It gets God’s attention in the wrong way. Moses saw God’s back, and it blessed him. Complainers see God’s disapproval because He hates sin! Complaining is a form of unbelief! Read 1 Cor. 10 and see what the Apostle Paul says about complaining!

God shows Himself strong to those who worship and praise Him through the good and the bad. This is what I am practicing: “Thank You, Lord, though I don’t like what is going on in our nation, or why it’s taking so long for my right ankle to heal. But I’m going to thank You and praise You, and love You through these challenging days! As You give me opportunity, I will stand for the flag, fight against abortion, share Christ with neighbors, others, etc.

Let’s give God the attention He deserves, and refuse to grab any glory, any praise people try to give us. Even appreciating His answers to our prayers is a good thing. Don’t stop asking; do keep from complaining. See God act !
