Ten Things I Learned about Life before the Fall (An interview with Adam ben Elohim Ayyim) – 5

Reporter: “Adam? What have you learned about life in the Garden?”

Adam: “First, I recognized that God is Light, that He never changes, and that He is a triune Being.”

Reporter: “You mentioned that you and Eve are light-bearing creatures. Does everyone in the world carry this light in themselves?”

Adam: “We know that God created life using His Light bearing, creative power, but not everyone has God’s presence in them that light’s their spirit. So, second, only those who have accepted His triune Personhood, know and receive Him in their spirit in that way.”

Reporter: “Please go on with what you’ve learned.”

Adam: “I’ve learned, third, that everything God does is pure, and good, and lovely! He does everything well. He makes life worth living. He is a provider, protector, gives us access to the best of His creation, and warns us of those areas off-limits, for our good. He never withholds anything, unless there’s a reason.”

Reporter: “But He withheld you from eating of that tree in the center of the Garden because He knew it would hurt you. Is that true?”

Adam: “It may be true. I don’t know. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was there for a reason. The fourth thing I learned is God doesn’t tell us everything we need to know and leaves some things untold or unexplained. We only knew that to eat of its fruit would spell death. Now that we’ve eaten of it and are on the outside looking back in, we realize how real death is!”

Reporter: “Your God brought death into this world!”

Adam: “No, our choice to disobey God brought death into this world! Anytime we disobey Him, we bring death into that situation. Don’t you understand that?”

Reporter: “We’ll talk more tomorrow, Adam. This conversation is over!”
